I am your typical lady who forgot why the blog was started in the first place and now,
she cannot remember why the blog still exist.
Maybe she does have something to say
Maybe 28 is catching up on her and she
is getting a little cranky
I hope you have something to tell her.
It is a coincidence, otherwise, it is all because of age.
It was my birthday last month and I was looking back a decade and more to what I have achieved. I just finished a book yesterday night and it was about this lady who lost a decade of her memories. That decade happens to be one that has went through plenty of changes for her. In that decade, she gave birth to 3 children of which now, she has no idea who they are.
I love getting books when I travel. Its like a piece that I bring with me how that after spending some time in that country, I would be able to appreciate the stories of that place more. It works sometimes. It is good that I can put a picture to the description in the story but sometimes, it doesn't work that way and I got to know more about the place that I have just visited.
Being able to forget is a skill. Being able to time travel is impossible. Perhaps, it should never be made possible otherwise, it will get pretty chaotic. Don't you think so?
This is a book that makes you think back about your life. It makes you recall. What happens if you meet the younger you? Will your friends still love you? Will your friends stay the same? Will feelings change? What goes up comes down, will that be the same for the feelings? Do they also go through the same business cycle?
FORGET is a big word. It is always a crossroad to whether should you forget or remember. Everyone seems to think that if I can forget then I can move on but the memories and the emotion might just keep gushing, you do not bear to forget. Reminds me of the Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind. As you go through the things once again that you have been dying to forget, would your decision stay the same?
Oh oh oh, it is just a book that I have read, it doesn't mean that I am trying to be emo. I used to write about the books I read so that I can remember them better. I miss reading and writing about them so, this post is that. It is still the school holiday!
I am back from my trip. They said time files and when you are happy, it gets even faster!
I have meetings starting from tomorrow onwards and people have been trying their luck, trying to call me. I dont think I have that many meetings when I dont go for holidays but yea...tired and I cannot wait for the weekends to come to catch up on some sleep.
I have uploaded my photos! :) I cant wait to see the rest of the pictures especially those taken from Ah Ping's SLR!!! Oh, and from Le Truang's camera.
Here is a glimpse:
Its tiring but I love this kind of trip. Although I am still short of a few destinations that I missed, our schedule was really packed to the MAX. :D
By the way... hmmm... never mind. I will talk about it next time. Exhausted and I really need to catch up on some sleep.
Hola! I try to remember my last trip and I thought I haven't been away for quite a while but guess what, I was in KL only last Saturday. The last time I took such long leave? Jan! I went on a shopping spree with the girls to Bangkok. It was extremely fruitful and our luggages almost burst. Those videos, muahaha, should never be seen. :) I'm going off with them again, this time to Ho Chi Minh! It's going to be a good break, almost 4 days off from work! Yiiippeee! Oh yea oh yea, I've also been to Langawi in August.
Look at the initernary and it's relatively packed. Ms Lim did a very good job in the planning! Let's hope we get all things planned swee swee executed!
Yiippee yeah yeah, got my specialist diploma this week. The result for the other course will most probably be next week. Scary~
Tired. Tata everyone. :p have fun!
(hahahaha, I know. A totally total nonsensical post)

Time to read some books...
:) Hello there. All my courses have finally ended, or so I think. Boss went on trying on convincing again that I should take my SCEM. I am even contemplating if I should carry on with my SISV since ultimately I might not even carry on what I am doing now. Its a relief, really. Now, I am waiting for all the assessments results and really, I am done, at least for now. I just hope everything will be fine and voila. Good enough. I am thinking to really pursue my studies, MBA will be good but lets take a break for now. I guess plenty of thinking to do, that includes what I wanna do and also everything pretty much depends on my finances.
I have got so many books that I can read now, other then all my stupid notes. Yeah! Haha, I get tire out by all these additional things that I am doing that I have not been reading and on MRT, I cannot really read much. My latest buy, Generation A from Douglas Coupland keeps me giggling in the train. I remember reading his JPod and laughing over the things that he ridicule. He is still as funny, making a dig at almost everything.
I have spent more than 3 years in this company and today was the third staff conference I have attended. These 3 years, I have learnt many things and this bunch of people has went through alot with me. MD was saying, "Joanne has come a long way, she really has." What he doesnt realise is I have come a long way, yes, not just that episode with him in it, the mediation in Supreme Court was really just a very small part of the long way. There were many changes these 3 years. In terms of jobscope, I have changed my job scope various times. I have my very bad moments, dealing with different people and doing different things. Personally, I also went through major changes which, if you all have been reading, should have know. When I finished my exam yesterday, I was sitting at the bus stop and I suddenly see images of these three years. It must be this song I am listening. 说再见 by Jay Chou, heard it at the concert and I thought that was very nice.
There were good moments and extremely bad ones. I have made mistakes, some of which I managed to salvage and some made me lose things. I have did something right, some of which proves to be wrong and some of which makes me gain something. I believe things all happen for a reason. Having said that, it doesnt mean I am at my emo moments now. :p
Totally irrelevant but there are some pictures for your pleasure viewing:- :) On the eve of my exam, I just have to do this. HAHAHAH!!! The last time I took my FSM, prior to my exam, HAHAHHAHA, I went for a cruise. :p I think this is just a very bad habit. The infinity pool! :) My room. This is also another habit which I cant seem to quit. Toilets of the pictures. :) I have quit the habit by not randomly taking pictures of ALL the toilets I have been to. All thanks to a toilet project that I have done. (-_-)'" after that, any new toilets I go, I cannot stop snapping! The right is toilet and the left the shower area. Jacuzzi overseeing Gardens by The Bay. Oh yea, now its called Construction Site. :) Comfy! It was very good time spent. :) Ohhhh...墨攻going to start liao! Haha, seriously, I cannot remember the last time I watched something at home on a Saturday night. I can blog, rest early and read. :D
It was just about 2 hours ago that I have woke and now, I am tired again. :) Last week this time, I was, if my memory doesnt fail me, having pizza at the H cafe, almost zonking out from the morning class. Stuffed the pizza into my mouth and rushed off to catch the bus to Nagoya Hill which is one of the biggest shopping centers in Batam. It seems dark, I hope it is not going to rain soon. I will be heading back to NUS to tonight. :) I dont know, it just seem kinda weird.
Yup, received an sms on Thursday and next, I was riding the waves with my qin ai de to Batam on Saturday. How impromptu.
The loot from Nagoya Hill. Geeez, I am horrible, it was too impromptu and I have no idea what to do at Batam so I did my research and realised we have to get Lulur Mandi so I did, so much so, it seems like I really have super rough skin. :) They were alllll so cheap! I got plenty of body lotions tooooo.
It was also Halloween and the hotel staff informed that there will be fireworks in the hotel. :p I was telling qin ai de, lets get some bazooka and set the night in fire. We were bought by the security guards to the roof top where the fireworks were. :) I bought my share and ermmmm it was so dangerous. HAHAHHA! I will upload the videos when I get it from qin ai de. There were 144 sticks that we have bought and I only managed to set off one before the security guard came looking for me. :( They must have thought I was some terrorists or something. Totally not relevant but this 19 years old taxi driver asked me to give him a call so that we can do dancing together. ;p I told you it is totally irrelevant. The pool was good and the beeeer was cheap. Incorrigible but lunch was beeer and some chips. The day bed was so comfy and the ang mohs spent their time reading and getting a tan. WE really have no time! So it was a good quick dip in the pool and some sun before we head for sauna and the 3 hours spa. :) The 3 hours spa was gooooooooooood. It was a body scrub followed by a massage. Subsequently, they did a body mask and you end off with a milk bath. We each had a pavilion to ourselves and we could see the people from the outside but it was good time spent with myself. I had a good time talking to the masseur with my very limited bahasa Indonesia.
I was seriously amazed. She has a daughter who lives in batam from her ex husband and a boyfriend who lives in Ang Mo Kio, yup, our Ang Mo Kio, who visits once a month and usually stays for 2 days. The boyfriend is 16 years older. Hur hur, my guess-she is the Batam mistress. This boyfriend that she is talking about probably has a family. When asked how long the relationship was, she said 5 years. Woooooo! I was watching TV just now and there was this man who brought the woman to the church because she doubted his love. So touching but I was telling Sis, he is a cheater. It turned out, HE IS A CHEATER. When confronted, he said he knows only in such a sacred place will a woman like her believe him. (-_-)'" Why must things be so complicated? This is the last batam view that greeted me. It feels good to see that as I walked to my ferry.
I just need things to be simpler. Can it be any more difficult than that?
If Someone is punctual like he said, I will have 15 minutes more but I doubt so. I like this, I am at MOS burger now after a super packed day, blogging aka talking to myself and listening to my MP3. The song on it now, The One (Crying like a baby) by Utada Hikaru. Nice song.
I am still coughing, wonderful. Everyone has shunned me because they associate me with you-know-what, they called mine the H10N10. Because of that, I have been getting attention from Someone (who is obviously not punctual since I have not receive his sms). There was this day after Sing dollars, I got on the car with Ms XJ and there was this bowl of weird stuff which is for me. Hah, Someone actually cooked bird nest for me. It was so much effort that now I am getting instant bird nest instead. =) BB X actually associate him to being my chauffeur too. HAHAHAH! On a typical raining morning, he will ask if Someone is coming to get me because he is worried that I get caught in the rain, awwww, so sweet.
Speaking of Sing Dollars, OTOT and Sing Dollars were funny and I am comtemplating to go to The Extraordinary V conference and The Hossan Leong talkshow or something. We shall see how. =) Anyhow, I am so amazed that they managed to incorporate Michael Jackson's death and Mingyi Fa shi's case on Sing Dollars, that is like so current!
Its August, time passes so fast, dont you agree? Was it because everyday is as busy as shit or because I have aged? It feels like everything was just yesterday yet many have happened. That is what will happen if you leave a woman by herself with an avenue to talk. You get all the weird weird thoughts on writing.
Ok, other than words, this is what I look like now. Played with the webcam.
Ok, I looked like one completely bored woman talking to myself. =) Have fun everyone and take care. I am off for a little getaway this long weekend. The weather will be great and I heard its freezing cold up there.
Its hot here but I am glad I am back. Seeing the news on TV last night while I was having massage really put us on our toes. Yeah, talk about the swine flu...Masks were all snapped up over there and the stores were having difficulties replenishing them. As a matter of fact, I heard from my friend that masks in Singapore were also snapped up when he went to get some for me before I left. Lets hope the thing blow over fast.
I spent the morning working. Haha, thats like so funny because I will never care about anything in the past. My friend was saying I should have just gotten half day instead of a full but I touched down at 5 this morning.
Anyhow, here is something for your viewing... The colours are so matching aye? Thats after a very expensive lunch in Hang Zhou. =) The famous West Lake. Matching colours again! Super match! =) This is the best buy! Actually its not a buy, its a free gift! Its a speaker that comes in a soft red teddy! =) Super cute and now, I just have to think of a place to put it. Ahhh, so happy... Heee... After a river cruise in Suzhou, this river is so looooong... Its matching colours again =p The emperor visited this place 6 times. We were speculatingof course he will want to visit. The whole place is like a maze and its interesting. We suppose the emperor will play hide and seek with his concubines, yeah, god knows what he will do when he finds them. =p Lots of secluded places to errr hemmm... HAHAHHA!!! =o The guys were saying the chase is fun but not the kill (-_-)'" I am not the emperor not the empress, and maybe a little old to be called a Princess but I found my fun toooo. HAHAHAHAH!!! He is from Korea. =p I dont know why he looked so glum here, it wasnt like that when he gave me that look =x
Actually, to laze around at home like today is good. Hee, maybe I should take a couple more days of leave and enjoy like now.
Back to the issues, =) I think I have sorted them out. I have made things complicated and during the trip, I did some factorisation and simplification. Tsk tsk tsk, by next week, by next week the equation will be at its simplest form. =)
Now, the best thing to do now is to head to the pool for a swim.
Wala! =) Weather here is great although it has been drizzling for the whole day. It got especially cold today with the wind coming. We are all freezing our arses off just now. We have just reached here today and yesterday, we were in Hang Zhou which was warmer, probably about 22? I am really enjoying the weather =D
Had abit of retail theraphy and it is really good. Lotsa of sleep, lotsa of rest...
=) Lotsa of things on my mind too. I left behind my boots in Istanbul, this time, I am going to leave more things behind. Some things are not meant to be kept. Some things are not meant to be. =) I just lost the little plane on my luggage today and I dont even know how it got lost. If only things that are meant to be lost can be lost the same way... Ok, I am talking too much on a strange land.
I had helluva weekend last week and it started on Friday! =) Awww, I miss that I miss that! I've cleared all my emplacement interviews as well last week =) The interview was pretty funny because he remembers me and we had a little chat. Yeah, the most funny question to me was why is Joanne not in a construction site. *shrugged*
Anyhow, I've uploaded the photographs last night and they were lovely! I want to go back again!!!
Here is a little preview to it! The view that greeted me in the morning when I wake!
Now, I wanna go back to sleep but the day is just starting. No, I am not there now, I am at home facing not the leaves but my dum dum laptop reading emails.
Its another 5 whole days before the weekends. I cannot believe I have another meeting later. Tickets to my holidays have also been booked! I will be away at the end of the month! I can't wait!
I remember 2 months ago, Boss sms-ed me.
Boss: Lets arrange a trip away and set to fly when the projects are over. Me: ASAP? Ok, so thats like when? Boss: Projects will end in May so we fly after that? Me: Woah, thats like so far away. I feel like dropping everything and go now. Boss: Ok, then only I am available. Me: If only you are 25 years younger and 25cm taller, we will fly off immediately. Boss goes silent after that.
HAHAHAHHA!!! He was complaining to the rest that he was trying to be nice and doing what he can and I took the opportunity to suan him. =p
Back from Australia!!! I was actually in Perth and well, it is really a nice place to rest in and retire in. All shops actually closes at 5pm on weekends and only some places open till 9 on Fridays. The weather is freaking hot and I really regretted bringing so many clothes down there, yeah, blame out weather forecast girl who told us, its going to be at 18. Well, actual fact, the temperature is DOUBLE of that value you just saw. Riiiiight, I am black (not tanned) now.
Yeah, I'll upload the photos soon but before that, check out the new year photos! This year, I bought my camera around and took pictures with the relatives we have been visiting for years! Speaking of which, Australia has no Chinese new year and it all seems like normal days over the other side. The people are friendly, they are always saying their greetings and stuff. Oh, remind me of the first night where we were too noisy at the hotel, one of the guests actually shouted "F**K You!" HAHAHA!!! We were all laughing like mad. I'll upload bit by bit for each day haha in case history repeats itself. Heh...
First Day!
Yup, talking about squeezing for all of us... My siblings and cousins. The tradition. Second Day! Third Day! Nothing fantastic, head back to work though everyone is still resting and cleared whatever I can. Packed at night.
Fourth Day Still packing and head for flight! I reached Perth at about 10pm! I guess the photos are pretty self-explanatory. =) KUDOS to my sis for bringing the camera to me on that day else omg, can you imagine travelling without the camera?!?!?! The first night in Perth. Fifth Day King's Park! There were plenty of picnics going on! The seagulls! Lok carefully, haha I think they do not really welcome guys there. =) I think it is funny and we had a good laugh over it. Cockburn Central! Sixth Day Feeding the Kangeroos! The lazy Koalas Seventh Day We visited Fremantle Prison and it was really an eye opener. The cells The cathedral These are the few out of the 533 photos! Hahaha and I still have some with my colleagues. Woah, I am fast aye? =)
